Data Warehouse Modernization for Large Payer
The CIO at a large payer was concerned about the diminishing returns from the company’s complex data warehouse. The data warehouse had grown as a result of multiple “bolt on” additions over several years. Data quality had deteriorated, maintenance costs were much higher than the norm and some business units had created their own alternative solutions independent of the company’s central business intelligence program.
Fortunately, the CIO recognized the problem before it got out of hand and Prosperata was brought in to assess the situation. We conducted a detailed organizational, functional and architectural evaluation and created a modernization plan that reused most of their existing investments. This entire initiative was undertaken in close cooperation with business leadership. Prosperata also oversaw the technical implementation of the modernization plan. The project completed on time and within budget, exceeding the initial expectations of the payer’s senior leadership.
