Leslie Kelly Hall
Chair of the Healthcare Consumer Technology Workgroup, HITSC

Leslie Kelly Hall combines past experience as a hospital administrator and vision as a consumer advocate to fuel patient engagement in national health care reform. As senior vice president of policy, Hall guides efforts regarding health information technology, standards, interoperability, privacy, and security policies that will help people engage in their own health.

Hall is widely recognized as a leader in health information technology. The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, part of the Department of Health and Human Services, has named her as Chair of the Consumer Technology Workgroup for the Health Information Technology Standards Committee (HITSC). She has also been named as Co-Chair of the Precision Medicine Task Force, an HITSC workgroup. Hall serves on several other advisory boards and committees, including Direct Trust, Carequality Steering Committee, HIMSS Public Policy Committee, and HIMSS Center for Patient- and Family-Centered Care.

Her achievements in health care administration have made a significant impact not only on patients and physicians but also on the health care system in the state of Idaho. She is the former chief information officer and vice president of marketing for Saint Alphonsus Health System. In 1996 she created Idaho’s first physician portal; and in 2003 under Hall’s leadership, Saint Alphonsus was recognized in BusinessWeek’s WebSmart 50 Companies list. Hall is a frequent presenter at federal and industry summits.
